First United Methodist Church is very actively involved in a variety of mission projects. Some projects involve us through hands-on volunteering. Others involve us through fundraising. Many do both. We welcome your participation!
Monthly Mission Emphases Each month at First United Methodist Church, we highlight a monthly mission project. Loose change in the offering plates and monies designated for that project are given as a gift from our church. On the second Sunday of each month, a Mission Emphasis is given during worship, highlighting the local charity or denominational mission project for that month. This year's mission projects are the following. 2025 January - Pastor's Discretionary Fund February - Pura Vida Student Scholarships March - UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) April - Pinecliff Camperships (near Coalville, UT) May - Youth Futures June - Lantern House July -School Supplies Drive (for Catholic Community Services) August - Diaper Drive September - United Women in Faith Charities - Ogden Rescue Mission, YCC, Family Counseling Services, Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank & Lantern House October - Veterans Home Activity Fund November - Sub for Santa (Christmas gifts for Utah Foster Kids) December - CCS Pantry Packs for Students
2023 Sub for Santa Gifts from FUMC to Utah Foster Care Kids
On Aug. 23, 2015, FUMC had a dunk tank to help raise funds to buy a fire truck for the Northern Cheyenne reservation in Montana. Here's Rev. Kim ready for the plunge, as kids and adults took turns throwing the ball. We raised over $600 that day.
