Computer Updates for the New Facility

With the new Facility, we are also going to be adding a new computer network that will be more reliable and easier to access for our members. Alot of effort is being put into place to make our new network everything that we could ask for. Although the computers we already have will remain with us for a while, we are adding a less cluttered enviroment for the connections as the contractor has installed network wiring in every room of the new church which will all feed into our network computer room where they will be plugged into a central hub with shared access. This new network will also include our own web server where we will base our web site for future access. This web server will also be shared with our memberships and friends who wish to have a place to have thier own personnel web sites along with non profit organization. This is all part of our outreach program. Alot of time, money and patients is going into this project so the network room will have to be fully secured with very little access to even our members ( this is for network security reasons ). We hope that everyone will understand this and appreciate all that's going into this project. As of the 29th of June, 2008 the network at the new facility is now up and running. We have two servers installed of which one is running a Windows platform and the other is running a Unix platform. Both servers are running independant of each other and serve two differnt purposes. The Board of Directors and the Finance Committe where able to come up with enough funds to buy a brand new Dell Server and the rest of the equipment was donated by private individuals and businesses in northern Utah. We are very grateful for those who donated. The new web server is now open to everyone who wishes disk space to place their own web sites. Just contact Rev. Alane or Rev. Michelle and request some space. There are rules to these web sites and you will find a listing of these here on this site.
