You are welcome at First United Methodist Church!  See our WORSHIP page for details.  Whether you worship with us in person or by livestream, we will be glad you came!

  • Like most United Methodist churches, our congregation has a theology of grace and and a practice of acceptance.  See our beliefs and purpose page.
  • We extend the love of God and the mercy of Christ to ALL people.  We believe diversity is a God-created, good thing!
  • Biblically-based sermons will address how God transforms us, individually and collectively, to bring about the kingdom of God that Jesus proclaimed.
  • Here's a video about what it means to be a member of the United Methodist Church.
                                                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We know it's a bit scary to venture into a new place with new people.  Here are some tips to help ease your anxiety:
1.  We're a casual bunch.  Suits, ties, and dresses are welcome in worship, but you'll see more polo shirts, slacks, jeans, and shorts--along with traditional clergy and choir robes.
2.  While we have more seniors than young adults, we do have a mixture of age groups.
3.  We have a big parking lot on the south side of the church, where you can easily see and access our main door.  We have some handicap parking spaces close to the building.
4.  Babies and toddlers are welcome to "sing" praises to God in the sanctuary with their parents.
5.  See the details of our Children's Ministry and full Christian Education program here.
6.  For answers to other questions, please check out other pages of our website www.fumcogdenut.org or give us a call at 801-393-5662.
8.  YOU ARE WELCOME at First United Methodist Church!
